Long-term residence EU
The Long-Term EU Residence permit is applicable to non-EU citizens who have been living in Spain for more than 5 years with a valid residence permit and have not spent more than 10 months in total outside the country. Once obtained, you will be able to exchange it for an equal long-term residence in one of the EU countries if you choose to move from Spain.
Conditions for service provision:
- Five years of legal stay in Spain with any residence permit except a student visa
- Maximum total absence from Spain: 10 months in the past 5 years, with no more than 6 months in a single continuous stay abroad
- Accreditation of time spent outside Spain (relevant passport stamps or flight tickets)
- Medical insurance with full cover, without copayment
- Proof of stable economic resources (income)
